This Turkmen rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925) in Central Asia. It features a classic hatchli design in the center of the piece, surrounded by large borders of alternating chevrons and a lovely skirt border on one end. These rugs were traditionally used as a door cover or entrance to a yurt. You can find beautiful tones of brick red, indigo blue, ivory, soft peach, and pleasantpurple throughout the rug. This piece is very finely woven for the type andin excellentcondition.
