These tribal inspired rugs originated in central Asia, and are distinctive for their dominating color scheme with dark reds, blues, black and at times ivory. These rugs do tend to be small or midsized and have soft wool, but have a hard pile that is cut thin, which makes them quite durable. Turkman rugs are the finest of the tribal rugs that have been produced to date.
