Hand Knotted Collections
Hand knotted rugs are made of wool and or silk on looms using a series of knots tied at the intersection of warp and weft  threads. The techniques go as far back as the 4th and 5th centuries with a number of different types of knotting techniques depending from which part of the world. The hand knotted construction is still the best type of area rug. The differences are the number of knots per square inch, different types of knots, types of yarn used (wool, wool blends, silk, wool and silk blends), the types of dyes (vegetable or chemical) and types of finishing and washing processes.
